New trend : The Marshmallow - Fluffy Puff Puffs review

I hope you are over cupcakes … the newest trend is definitely reaching our shores : Gourmet Marshmallow.

There are numerous smaller mail-order companies in the U.S at the moment and they are all making pretty good business.
Michelin stars chefs in London used to offer them as petit-fours but are now increasingly adding their newest creations into their dishes. Desserts AND starters.

The marshmallow world is getting creative !
Please forget the horrible foamy and tasteless pink & white stuff we only enjoyed in hot-chocolate.
The French-style marshmallow with American creativity is here ;-)

I was contacted by Fluffy Puff Puffs to try their creation.
I remember the french bakeries of my childhood offering these wonderful strings of marshmallow.
Freshly home-made with no nasty chemicals or preservatives. Can Fluffy Puff Puffs re-alight these memories ?

Here is the selection they sent me :

White chocolate peanut butter drizzle
Love currant and white chocolate
Lemon punch
Love currant
Raspberry
Dark chocolate peanut butter
Lime punch

I expected the dark chocolate to over-power the peanut butter. Well, I eat my hat ! Both flavours come on quite strong and add a lovely texture to the mallow. A great combination !

And here is the lemon punch, which I thought would be the least flavourful of the lot. Again, the lemon flavour is punchy indeed. A burst of flavour in a cloud of comfort.

The marshmallows are dry enough on the outside and moist enough on the inside. A really fluffy texture which you can feel when squeezing it as well as whilst you eat them.

And one of the biggest selling point about Fluffy Puff Puffs is that they are made free of preservatives and chemicals.
The flavours come from fruit puree and fruit juice, the colouring mostly derived from natural sources.

At present, Fluffy Puff Puffs is a very new business. The only form of payment accepted is PayPal and the marshmallows are shipped via MyHermes courier.
Both have their pros and cons but I am sure that as the company grows, so will the options for payment and shipping.

For the quality of the mallows, the taste and the fact they are made only natural ingredients, I can only give Fluffy Puff Puffs a raving 5 out of 5

Disclaimer : I was sent these marshmallow to try out for free. All opinions and pictures are my own and the review 100% honest. This post has not been sponsored by the company.

    1. They could be if you don't like the texture. But they weren't over or too sweet.
