Batiste - Leave in Smoothing Conditioner Mist - Review

Still part of the latest BzzAgent Batiste campaign, I was given a can of Leave in Smoothing Conditioner Mist to try for free.

I thought the dry shampoo was convenient for emergencies but I wasn't converted.
Now; I am definitely a convert of the Conditioning Mist !

Through the years, I have tried various leave-in conditioners with results ranging from mediocre and leaving my hair greasy to good or above average with decent softening properties.
Never had I yet come across a miracle product.
Batiste Conditioning Mist could fit into this category now ;-)

What does Batiste say about it?

Goodbye brittle mop, hello silky locks - a few spritz of the superlight dry feel Smoothing Conditioning Mistspray, infused with Argan Oil, is perfect for the days when you are fighting the frizz or dry ends are driving you dotty. A quick spritz into the mid lengths & ends nourishes, smoothes fly-aways and helps retain moisture in dry unmanageable hair, giving you shiny, great looking hair every day.

What do I think ?

How did I try it ?

I tried it the day after a usual wash.
I first used Batiste dry shampoo and followed with the Conditioning Mist

My straw-like unconditioned hair

How convenient is it to use vs other products ?

My favourite product before Batiste Smoothing Conditioner Mist was a rather expensive (£26) Palm Oil from a prestigious French hair-care brand.
But for best result, I would apply the oil onto dry hair, leave it for half a day and look like a wet dog until I washed it out with a couple of shampoo.
That was a really time-consuming treatment.
Batiste gives me similar results, in seconds and ready to go.
I can use it every morning before going to work or at any time, after washing and drying my hair.

Stunning shiny and smooth hair thanks to Batiste

What are the results ?

I have tried various leave-in conditioner through the years.
A few left my hair dull and greasy, some would make them beautifully soft but lacking in shine, others would give me shine but wouldn't manage the frizz.
Batiste really does work all round : softness, shine and smoothness !

How does it smell ?

The smell is very sweet and reminiscent of the leading brand of old-fashioned and trusted hair-fixing spray.
Unfortunately, the fragrance smells quite artificial and is very strong.
Thankfully, it faded a little bit with time but will smell throughout the day.
I am not a fan of strong-smelling cosmetics as I do not want anything to distract from my perfume.
Despite, this, I am willing to compromise and I will carry on using Batiste conditioning mist as I found it gave the best result with convenience.

My final verdict :

I will be using my coupons to stock up on Batiste Conditioning mist.
Not only it is convenient but I feel it would improve my hair on the long run.
I will tuck the palm oil away for a while and use the conditioning mist on a regular basis in a bid to protect and condition my hair.
I will give this new product a 4 out 5

  3. I am a big fan of Batiste dry shampoo (simply a must for festivals!). I use it regularly to cut down on washing my hair as I have coloured hair & washing it causes the colour to fade, so using dry shampoo means I only have to wash it a few times a week rather than every other day. I haven't yet tried the Batiste conditioner but will consider it when I use up my various bottles of leave in conditioners that are cluttering up my cupboard! :)

  10. Can't believe how well Batiste has managed to reposition itself in the market; it's come a long way since it was a lemon smelling talc in a green can. Can't wait to try this.

    1. I remember the days where I would end up in tears with my Mum trying to detangle my hair !

  13. DEFINATLEY going to give this a whirl :) I can imagine its cheaper than the leave in conditioners Ive tried, and from your brilliant review, sounds a lot more effective to!
Only thing that worries me slightly is the fact it's in a aersole and that its got a strong scent. Certain strong scents set of my asthma and so do aerosols :( Although I'm sure this could be sprayed on a brush away from me then brushed through my hair!
